After seven years of partial closure, the Old Masters Picture Gallery and the Sculpture Collection up to 1800 are presenting together for the first time in the extensively renovated museum building. The new permanent exhibition is characterised by a geographical division according to schools and focuses on various main themes of the respective period. Highlights include world-famous masterpieces such as Raphael's Sistine Madonna, Rembrandt's Ganymede or the Dresden vedute of Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto.
To mark the 300th anniversary of Canaletto's birth, the special exhibition "Magic of the Real. Bernardo Bellotto at the Saxon Court" is shown until the end of August, which is of course included in the ticket price.
